Russian Clement Kolesnikov won the European Swimming League (LEN) for the title of the best swimmer in Europe in the last year.

The 18-year-old athlete won 44 percent of the vote in a poll, which was attended by representatives of European national federations and members of committees and LEN groups.
In women, the best swimmer is recognized as the Swede Sarah Sestrem (45.3%). In the voting for the title of the best synchronizer, Russian Svetlana Kolesnichenko won (63.8%).
Recall that in 2018 Kolesnikov won two gold, three silver and two bronze medals at the World Short Water Championship. In addition, he has three gold, two silver and one bronze at the European Championships, where he set a world record at a distance of 50 meters on his back.
Earlier it was reported that five swimmers received the award "Athlete of the Year" from the All-Russian Swimming Federation.
